JOSH ISLAND

Josh Island’s sound has been likened to a melting pot of John Mayer, Damien Rice and Jason Mraz, combining intimate singer-songwriter melodies with upbeat folk, a touch of jazz and warm soul-blues.

Based out of the little Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the versatile singer-songwriter with Dutch roots is in pursuit of his true passion in storytelling and performing. Starting out his career in the local music scene at the age of 16, he quickly gained recognition for his vocal presence, organic folk-picking, and entertaining showmanship.

In the last years, Island has supported shows for an array of international acts, including Mighty Oaks, Charlie Cunningham, Leif Vollebekk, Hannah Epperson and Alex Vargas, and has shared festivals together with headliners such as The Lumineers and Jake Bugg. Award-winning musician John Butler quoted that Josh has “a great voice and plays guitar impressively well.”

Now 20, Island continues to refine his sound, crafting stories and melodic tones for audiences and stages wherever his young career may take him. Spot him with a guitar slung across his back on a bike in the Netherlands, performing at art galleries, festivals, international showcases, and in intimate living rooms. Josh’s debut EP “ONE”, released February 2018, is the beginning of a long journey, showcasing his mature personality and musical drive.
